We can no longer supply the original Talex units which were so popular, but a virtually identical Novus product is now avaialble from us.

This Delta and its sister units the Rider and Alpha use the latest gps technology in a neat little unit which sticks to your dash via a small rubberised magnet, with a peel off sticky base. The GPS ‘aerial’ is integrated so there’s only 1 cable, a power lead to your cigarette lighter. The Rider is battery powered, rechargeable at home or in-car, for an extra £10. You can easily remove it for security too.

The unit has an LED display on the front of the unit, which provides additional information to the voice announcements. Whilst driving normally it will display the current speed. When a warning is triggered, a chime is heard followed by an announcement such as ‘Warning speed camera 500 yards ahead - limit 30 miles per hour’, the speed limit at the camera site will flash for eight seconds, before going back to displaying the vehicle’s speed. This will typically happen at 500 yards from the camera position, (in some cases a 500 yard warning is not ideal because of the road layout). A second chime is heard at 200 yards from the camera site, and if the vehicle is still over the speed limit, a continuous warning is heard ‘Warning - reduce speed’ until the vehicle speed drops to the speed limit, or the camera site is passed. The database can store 150,000 sites and is updated daily.
